Mission Statement
Research and Development in Pediatric Therapy's mission is to provide inspiration and opportunity for children to become all they can become.

The Special Children Center offers a wide combination of therapies to address the needs of children who may be demonstrating a combination of the following behaviors:

• Delayed speech
• Delayed motor development (walking, crawling etc.)
• Poor coordination
• Poor balance, clumsiness
• Over activity, easily distracted
• Low frustration
• Disorganization
• Social immaturity
• Overreaction/underreaction to touch, movement, and change.

Nationally Known
We are nationally known for our expertise in working with children with a wide range of challenges-cerebral palsy, head trauma, autism, attention deficit disorder, sensory defensiveness, sensory integrative dysfunction and offer both traditional and nontraditional alternative program approaches to help facilitate a child's development.

Traditional Programming
Traditional programming includes occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech and language therapy using an eclectic approach, integrating many different techniques including sensory integration, neurodevelopmental and developmental therapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic electrical stimulation.

Alternative Programming
Alternative programming includes craniosacral therapy/myofascial release, Auditory Integration Therapy, Interactive Metronome, Fast Forward Program, Samonas Listening Protocols, Therapeutic Listening, Cerebral Electrical Stimulation, educational kinesthesiology, and body conditioning programs for children with physical challenges.

Philosophy
Our philosophy is to provide each child with the best opportunity to gain the skill, self-confidence and mastery to meet his/her innate potential.

Staff
All staff at Special Children Center have appropriate credentials for their discipline. We work as a multidisciplinary team with an eclectic approach to address each child's needs. We have two physicians that can also provide us with needed medical consultation.
